This page is part of the Spacing Guild Co-op. This site began as Matt On-line in 1996. Since then, it has undergone many major revisions, including a former version written in JSP, culminating in this version you see here. This version has been in use since 2007. I wrote the backend software using the Django web framework. The page design is by Andreas Viklund, modified by myself, and taken from Open Source Web designs.
As for myself, I'm currently a trade developer at Walleye Trading in Plymouth, MN. Previous to this I worked for 4 years at
Allston Trading. Prior to that I was a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the
University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
My area was wireless networking.
My master's thesis is titled "An Interlay Architecture for Wireless Mesh Networks." I graduated from the
University of Florida (2001) with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics and
an M.S. from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
My wife, Kim is an assistant professor in theology at
St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict where she just published her first book.
I have two children, Thomas and Juliana.
For fun, I like to play video and board games, program computers, and read novels. I also enjoy traveling and camping, although life in the midwest has made outdoor activities more difficult.
